In late August, SIBUR signed a long-term contract with a Chinese customer for regular liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies to the growing Chinese market.

On 3 August, the RusVinyl PVC production facility delivered a test batch of polyvinyl chloride as part of its commissioning process. Several days earlier RusVinyl produced a test batch of caustic soda. The commissioning is still underway, with the launch scheduled for the second half of this year.

Sibur and The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced that the Olimpiets facility in Perm, Russia will be the first court to be refurbished under a multiyear partnership to grow the game of basketball in Russia by providing safe and accessible basketball facilities. Twin brothers Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets and Robin Lopez of the Portland Trail Blazers will conduct a basketball clinic for local children at the refurbished court on August 2nd.

SIBUR and NOVATEK reported to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on completion of a series of projects aimed at creating an integrated technological chain from hydrocarbon production to deep processing in Russia. The announcement was made at a meeting of the Presidential Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security held in Astrakhan.

Igor Sechin, Rosneft's President and Chairman of the Management Board, and Leonid Mikhelson, Chairman of SIBUR Holding’s Board of Directors, have signed a set of documents for supplies of associated petroleum gas (APG) from Rosneft's fields to Nizhnevartovskiy, Belozerniy and Nyagangazpererabotka gas processing plants (GPPs), and a contract for sales of dry gas from Nizhnevartovskiy and Belozerniy GPPs to Rosneft.
