Moscow, 28 July 2015. Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk (part of Gazprom Group) and NIPIGAZ (part of SIBUR Group) agreed to form a partnership on design, procurement and construction management for the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) near the town of Svobodny in the Amur Region.

The Amur GPP will become Russia’s largest natural gas processing facility with a design capacity reaching 49 bcm per annum and will also include the world’s largest helium production The participation of NIPIGAZ, Russia’s leading center for design, engineering and managing of the construction of oil refining and petrochemical plants, will provide for implementing the project in the most efficient way. NIPIGAZ has a relevant expertise, well-developed sci-tech and intellectual background, successful experience in management of major investment projects for hydrocarbons processing, including those, in cooperation with foreign companies.

NIPIGAZ, acting as a contractor within the joint project, will provide working documentation, supply the equipment and materials, carry out construction and installation activities at the Amur GPP and transfer the plant to Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk in a state of mechanical completion.

Multicomponent gas from the Irkutsk and Yakutia gas production centers being built by Gazprom within the Eastern Gas Program will be delivered to the plant via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. The GPP will produce ready for sale methane, ethane, propane, butane, pentane-hexane fraction and helium. Cutting-edge engineering solutions will be applied in the construction, allowing to mitigate the environmental impact of the plant.

In compliance with the project implementation schedule, it is planned to start pre-developing the construction site this year. Phased commissioning of the GPP production lines will be synchronized with the  development of gas production capacities in Yakutia and the Irkutsk Region.

Gazprom’s Amur GPP will be technologically connected with the SIBUR’s facility for deep processing of hydrocarbons, the construction of which is being considered by the Group.
