Ethylene oxide is used in chemical, petrochemical and other industries. Treated ethylene oxide is used to produce especially pure ethylene glycol. Technical ethylene oxide is used to produce glycols, polyester resins, wetting agents and other purposes.
Polyglycols are dark brown viscous liquid without mechanical impurities, produced from a mixture of triethylene glycol, tetraethylene glycol and pentaethylene glycol.

Storage tanks shall have thermal insulation and heating device due to the high viscosity of glycols at low temperatures and the resulting difficulties in pumping them. Open warehouses must comply with fire safety regulations for the storage of combustible substances (embankment around the warehouse with the removal of vegetation inside it) provided with all necessary fire extinguishing agents. Storage of the product together with oxidizing agents, acids, alkalis is not allowed.
The guaranteed storage life for polyglycols is 1 year from the date of manufacture.
Polyglycols are transported by motor transport in accordance with the rules for the carriage of goods operating on this type of transport. Boilers for tank trucks and tank containers should be made of stainless steel of 12XI 8Н10Т grade.
Polyglycols are used as a means to prevent freezing of bulk cargo (sinter) and as a dust suppressor in the production of potash fertilizers.
